Hi :D

My name is Felix (Qiqing) Yu (he/him). I’m a student, illustrator, designer, and artist currently living in Boston, MA, pursuing a BFA in Studio Art and a BA in Clinical Psychology at Tufts University 🐘.

My growing body of work blends graphic arts and textiles to explore themes of social issues and self-expression. I’m interested in how art can promote growth and support people in living a better life. Through research, reflection, and curation, I endeavour to create visual expressions that offer a sense of warmth and ease.

I’m currently experimenting with illustration, printmaking, soft sculpture, graphic design, and digital media to expand my material vocabulary and explore the possibilities of healing expression. Childlike imagery, soft colour palettes, and elements of “cuteness” often appear in my work, serving as tools to evoke visual comfort and emotional connection.

My liberal arts education at Tufts has enabled me to explore and critically examine the concepts of human development and healing, informed by courses in child study, psychology, sociology, and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies.

For now, I’m working on both commissioned and personal projects for Tufts Observer and a Story-Walk installation at Hillfield Strathallan College. My interest in visual storytelling continues to motivate my creative practice.
